Dear Journal,
I know I’ve been saying for years now that I would never buy an iPhone, but I feel like BlackBerry is forcing my hand. I was in the App World today. I know, I know… what for, right? They don’t even have the Yahoo! Fantasy Football app anymore. I guess I was just wasting time. Anyways, I was in the App World when I came across a section called, “A Thank You Gift From BlackBerry.” Flattered that they would even think of me, I figured I should check it out. That’s when I found this:
“Thank you for choosing and supporting BlackBerry. In appreciation, Vlingo – Virtual Assistant is free of charge for a limited time (a $19.99 USD value), compliments of BlackBerry.
Vlingo is your very own Virtual Assistant. Simply speak to Vlingo and it will help you do more stuff, faster and easier than before.
Try saying ‘Text John; What’s up?’ or ‘find Italian restaurants’ or even ‘update Facebook; I’m on a boat!’
‘Vlingo will do whatever you’ve told it to do.’ – Wall Street Journal
‘Vlingo adds Jedi-like levels of mind tricks.’ – CNET
‘Vlingo is dope.’ – MC Hammer”
Who’s going to walk away from a phone with apps that sick… for free. Not this guy. Some companies are just too legit to quit.
Sincerely (like a boss),
Jake
